This just in from our local partner Paul in Port Elizabeth where our volunteer programme works with seven township schools

“The long and the short of it is that the 4300 teachers that were fired, due to lack of funds, have been reinstated, with money coming from national government. The re deployment of teachers will now be handled by a co operative body, including the unions. So post provisioning is being redone. This will help most of our schools, who are under reseourced.

So its been a victory for the teachers that were sacked!”
