In our previous newsletter, we wrote about Michael’s plans to celebrate his 50th year with a triathlon as a fundraising exercise for the Emmanuel project in Port Elizabeth. Well, it was certainly exercise !

Here is a photo of Michael (2nd from right) and four friends who completed the Alpe D’Huez Triathlon. The following report from Michael …

what a team !

what a team !

“I completed the Triathlon in 9.5 hours, which included 6.15 cycle ride, 2.15 half marathon and 45 minute swim.

Here is a photo of myself and best mate, Paul after we had completed the triathlon.

we did it !

we did it !

I had trained for 6 months to complete the challenge and it was in Alpe D’Huez in France where the average degree of the mountain was 10%.

The swim was straightforward, the cycling was long hot and hard and the run painful !!!

At the end I vowed ‘never again’ but just weeks later the pain has long gone … and MAYBE!

Thanks to everyone who supported us – I have raised £502 for Emmanuel.”
