Novemeber 9th 2011 is World responsible Tourism Day.

As previous winner of the Responsible Tourism Award we are recognised supporters of this important initiative – but we also want to ensure that each year we promote an important aslect of responsible tourism and this year we are focusing on  the need for giant leaps when it comes to responsible tourism and children.

Since our launch  we have always had a responsible tourism policy and a code of conduct for our volunteers and these ofcourse included appropriate behaviour and advise on working with children. We have this year improved on this and have worked with our local partners to develop a child protection policy. Many of the projects we work with have their own policies – and we work with these – however many projects do not and they have adopted our policy. You can read the policy here in full

We are proud to be associated with WTMWRTD and thrilled to watch it go from strength to strength each year. Thanks to all involved.
