I told you our volunteers are amazing!

Lynn and Michael volunteered in South Africa in the summer. Lynn at Emmanuel and Michael at Isaac Booi School. As if that wasn’t generous enough they have come back and started fundraising – and just as important – getting the word out there about the volunteer programme. What stars. “We are both in shock and a bit overhwelmed this morning.  The talk was a huge success  – we aimed to raise £600 and doubled that and hit the target straight away – £1200!  All for a bit of cheese, wine and listening to Mike and I chat!!
 
Everyone’s response was amazing with a standing ovation.  Lots of good questions and plenty of kind words.  Lots of leaflets taken re People and Places so lets hope more volunteers!
 
We have been inundated this morning with texts and phone calls saying what a wonderful evening it was and how informative it was. 
 
Anyway – we are trying to get back down to earth!  Michael is presenting the talk at his school in a rolling programme to all the years and sixth form.  I have presented the talk to my social work team and we are offering to do it to whoever wants to listen!!”
