Saint Lucia – sun, sea, sand and marginalisation

Saint Lucia – sun, sea, sand and marginalisation

So I have just returned from Saint Lucia. Last time I was there – many years ago –  before I became a born again responsible traveller, I stayed at a fancy resort close to the Pitons( now a UNESCO heritage site). All very nice but did I learn anything about Saint Lucia – nope.

This trip could not have been more different and I will blog soon about the paradox that is Saint Lucia  – for now take a look at one of the projects we are going to work with – for the volunteer with the right skills this is an experience I envy them – the yopungsters are amazing, some of them have such challenges, the project staff are enthusiastic and inspirationa;, the people of Saint Lucia are some of the friendliest I have eber met on my travels – and all this wrapped up in picture book scenery.

A huge thankyou to our partners at Scribal – Zan and Sylvester – more later  – in the meantime take a look at the CARE project here

And yes I was very tired and hot when that photo was taken!
