Remember – e-volunteer programme – still a 50% reduction!

It’s fantastic that our volunteers can travel again but this doesn’t suit everyone. We set up our e-volunteering programme during COVID – supporting our programmes without travelling. This can be done in the Gambia, Cambodia and Morocco. We can match a range of volunteer skills to local needs for online volunteering, exactly as for volunteering in-country. Watch this short video to hear how Linda used her business and finance skills to support women from No Woman Left Behind, a women’s…

Volunteers at work – in pictures

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers – those who have travelled and those who have worked from home as e-volunteers to support our volunteer programme since we have been able to travel post-Covid. Here are some great pictures of some of our volunteers at work during the last year. To learn more about all these projects follow these links to our project pages for in-country placements and for e-volunteer placements or email dianne@travel-peopleandplaces.co.uk

What an impact our e-volunteer programme is having in Morocco!

What an impact our e-volunteer programme is having in Morocco!

Anyone wanting evidence of the importance of this programme had only to attend our online social a few weeks ago.  Since 2020 volunteers have been working online with house-mothers and girls at the Education for All boarding houses to build their confidence and fluency in spoken English. Latifa, the house-mother due to participate in the social, had to drop out on the morning of the event and Khadija, house-mother of Dar Asni 3, stepped in at a moment’s notice.  To…

e-volunteering – a 50% reduction in our fees!

e-volunteering – a 50% reduction in our fees!

We have reduced the people and places fee for e-volunteering from £200 to £100 – not just for you but for anyone you introduce to us. This discount will be available to all volunteers who confirm their e-volunteer placement with us before the end of April 2023. We are not reducing the money that you would pay to the projects – they desperately need the funds. We are discounting e-volunteering to make it even more accessible to all – and because…

Talking, dancing, music, drama – just a few of the volunteer skills we need right now!

Talking, dancing, music, drama – just a few of the volunteer skills we need right now!

The places we support need volunteers with all kinds of skills – definitely not just professional skills – your hobbies and interests are just as valuable too! Here are just a couple of volunteer skills we are looking for at the moment Our partners in Morocco have recently opened a 6th boarding house for girls, which means they have a new house-mother, Naima.  Naima speaks some English (quite well considering it’s her 4th language!) but she is not as fluent…

Don’t want to travel? – not a problem – e-volunteering is here to stay

We continue to be heartened by the wonderful work and close relationships that can be achieved through e-volunteering.  Our e-volunteers go from strength to strength and a number of them are now on their second e-volunteer placement.  Here are just a few examples to whet your appetite for this different but very worthwhile way to volunteer with a project overseas. Eileen is about to start her second online book club, working with our partners in South Africa, Good Work Foundation. …

Another fantastic volunteer meeting

Another fantastic volunteer meeting

“I really enjoyed listening to the other volunteers and their experiences and it was managed most skilfully by Paul who drew in plenty of people as well as managing the time very well.  What struck me was that most were, like me, people who had not worked abroad before but welcomed the opportunity to share skills, visit new places (eventually!) and meet people from other countries. ” “Thankyou for arranging such an informative session – I am now even more excited…
